Communique from Clearwater Golf Club Board Chairman

Heller Golf and the Sir Bob Charles Performance Centre
Heller Golf, after an initial, and favourable, meeting with the board, is now preparing a detailed proposal for the building of the Sir Bob Charles Performance Centre on our driving range.

The concept, which will include a revamped driving range with an enhanced putting green and separate areas for chipping and wedge play, will be truly world class and the most sophisticated and expansive golf performance centre and driving range in New Zealand.

There will be a large outdoor practice tee plus a low-impact teaching centre capable of providing under cover and all-weather teaching and club fitting. This area will be equipped with MIA Sports Technology’s Flightscope ball tracking, golf radar and launch monitor technology.

Kevin Hughes, who has already coached many Clearwater players,  will head a team of professional instructors at the Performance Centre.

Specific programmes and introductory offers will be designed to build participation and attract new members to our club while also being able to cater for New Zealand’s elite players.
Clearwater members will still receive free range balls on Wednesdays and Saturdays plus other member discounts.

This is an exciting proposition, not only for our club, but for golf in the region, and will clearly set Clearwater apart for the quality of both our course and our facilities.

Chairman of the Clearwater Golf Club Board
